The County Government of Nitwits (Lawrence County Government A True Skidmark on the Underpants of Society)

Yes, I did say that Lawrence County, Indiana government officials many of which are total nitwits end up comprising a county government that is full of nitwits from the top to the bottom. Why do I say such mean, nasty and hurtful things to the damaged psyche of our public officials and many in the community at large? Would it be out of meanness and spitefulness? Nope. Would be because I've got a personal vendetta against one or more persons in Lawrence County government because of some minor issue? Nope not that either. Then why?

The problem is staring most thinking and reasonable people in the face that actually will have ears to hear and eyes to see and actually pay attention to the rot that exists in much of South Central Indiana. Including surrounding counties that have such crooked government bodies full of morally debased cadavers that they could qualify as being mortuaries just with people sitting up right in their chairs at government meetings or in their day to day affairs running a government that is largely incompetent and often worse in that its also chock full of people doing the wrong things under US Code of Federal Regulations as well as the Indiana Code and various other local laws.

It's kind of like the recent cyber hacking issue that came up with Lawrence County government computers and systems being hacked by some unknown as of yet intruder that was able to not only access all kinds of government records for Lawrence County, Indiana but also personal information of various people who either have had legal issues, court records, personal records that shouldn't be able to be hacked by just any computer hacker sitting anywhere. So much for local Indiana governments such as Lawrence County having data security and security over the personal information of their taxpayers as well as all citizens. That goes for everyone being violated because LAWRENCE COUNTY officials have their heads planted firmly up their asses to the point that they could barely run a county government or any other local body of government.

One has to wonder how such snafus and incompetence can go unanswered for years and years in a county government without someone at the state level in Indiana conducting investigations into local governments. Is it because at the state level the State Of Indiana doesn't really give a hoot and a shit about local issues and local governments as long as the State Department of Revenue keeps getting their loot from Indiana businesses and taxpayers.

Lawrence County has long been a hotbed of political corruption from having past sheriffs involved in criminal activity and sent to jail for such to having employees of the police departments in Lawrence County in Bedford and Mitchell being sent packing or worse to jail for criminal violations of the law. That's just the ones that you hear about that someone wishes to make a stink about regarding crooked government including criminal police agencies.

Seems that the Seymour Police Department and City of Seymour was just involved in a police scandal where the former retired police chief was taking ghost employment among other things and another officer is doing more corrupt things as well. Too bad that the Indiana State Police in Versailles is out of the jurisdictional area of Lawrence County since their region of purview involves as far west as Jackson County. Then again, seeing as they are state police maybe they need to start an investigation and start looking at Lawrence County along with various other entities in Southern Indiana including Paoli and Orange County as well as Salem in Washington County and a few other police departments and local sheriffs departments that have more than a few skeletons in their own closets.

You've got a county government in Lawrence County that can't even secure the data of its stakeholders, residents, taxpayers and overall citizens when they can't even secure their own computer network much less keep the phone lines in working order as they were knocked out in the latest hacking attempt. I would venture to guess based on professional expertise that this wasn't the first time that they've actually be hacked but the first time that it was so severe that they couldn't sweep it under the rug and keep it out of the public view. One has to wonder the type of information security protocols and data security that these local yokels actually practice to keep unauthorized people out of authorized areas including not giving them the ability to access critical data not only for the county but also those in the court systems having cases along with personal data that they don't want spread all over the world for anyone to see.

It wouldn't be that hard for a hacker to obtain personal data of someone in the court systems or child protective services and other governmental issues to have their information spread far and wide for things that shouldn't be public knowledge because a bunch of nitwits and buffoons run the local police departments, county government and various offices in that county government. I wonder who is going to be held responsible for such lack of common sense and ability to control data. Of course as usual they'll brush it off on someone else and no one will ever take accountability nor anyone being held accountable because in Lawrence County that is what they do.

It's their modus operandi that government incompetence as well as government corruption will not be investigated or investigated so badly that it renders the crooks and criminals the ability to basically govern themselves and cover up their own criminal intent. That's the modus operandi of Lawrence County Government as well as the cities of Bedford and Mitchell which cover up all kinds of crooked backroom political deals and then say that they don't do anything against the rules or the laws of Indiana. How laughable that no one is there to police government officials in Lawrence County and much other counties in South Central Indiana.

Outside of a few Bedford residents that call out the political and government corruption like Samuel Shaw there isn't enough investigations of the Lawrence County syndicate as one of the locals would call Bedford, Indiana government and local officials. Even more laughable is letting these local yokels actually investigate themselves which is tantamount to letting a fox guard a chicken house.

But that is what you get when you have a county government and political apparatus in Lawrence County and Bedford (Methford) Indiana largely comprised of mentally challenged supposedly adult aged nitwits, incompetents and nincompoops.

With all of the natural resources, plentiful water, relatively clean air and quality land one would think that Lawrence County the cities such as Mitchell and Bedford would be prime locations to open new businesses and attract growing industries especially considering that within about 20-25 miles you have an instant connection to the outside world including the rest of Indiana and the United States.

One has to question what kind of leaders exist in Bedford and Lawrence County that can't even run a lemonade stand when you could give them plentiful water, a pitcher, stirrer,  lemons, sugar, cups and a cash box and they still end up failing.

Not only has Bedford and Lawrence County stagnated over the past several decades but in fact it has been going into reverse in a major way even since the late 1990s early 2000s. Even worse is that longtime employers have left Bedford and Mitchell to be replaced by low wage retail outfits, junk shops and virtually nothing else of real value to the community. Gone are places like Carpenter, Visteon and now Manchester Tank will be leaving. You would think that these people running Radius, Indiana and the rest of the so called economic development gurus would be working hard to bring in new businesses. Instead, the only thing being brought into Bedford is more and more in the way of illegal drugs and other narcotics that are destroying the community and turning it into a laughingstock.

Instead of focusing on serious economic development efforts and re-developing areas that have turned into industrial brownfields due to companies moving out of the area or outright closing the powers that be in county and city governments in Lawrence County along with the so called Radius people haven't really did much of anything for 20 years. At one time, Bedford was a pretty growing and better quality community instead of the drug infested and alcohol abusing place that it is nowadays and no one seems intent on stopping it. Even though law enforcement through the county sheriff and the various local yokels of Lawrence county go on drug busts and enforcement activities against street level dopeheads and users nothing ever really gets cleaned up.

Then again could it be that they don't really want to solve the drug and alcohol addiction problems in Bedford, Mitchell and the rest of Lawrence County because its extra revenue for the local authorities to make excuses and get their pockets padded at the same time while having more and more drug busts and court actions which will line the pockets of the legal community as well as the various police officials and officers and employees of the court system along with the judges and so called community protectors.

Could it be that they've decided that they don't really want to fix the horrendous drug problem in Lawrence County and would rather play pat a cake with their friends telling them what a great job they are doing while all kind of drugs turn Lawrence County into a land of walking zombies and unemployed addicts incapable of holding jobs and therefore end up having to commit crimes to survive or pay for their drug habit. Could it be that the LOCAL LEGAL EAGLES in the SO CALLED JUSTICE profession don't want that drug abuse problem to end because that would put an end to their ill gotten gains through first bringing in the dope while also going after the low level users and street dealers while keep their own hands clean by selling the dope to the locals after which they prosecute and detain these people and pay their own salaries through the public taxpayers bailing them out.

All the while Lawrence County officials and various mayors and public officials of the small cities of Lawrence County including Bedford have done virtually nothing to attract new businesses and bring in new industries to employ the local workforce outside of a little bit of a pickup at NSWC Crane and a couple of other businesses. Maybe that is the goal to turn Bedford into a little retirement community of nothing to really offer except a retirement angle which creates really nothing but a parasitic economy that produces nothing and creates nothing of value. Of course, unless you're one of the drug pushers in Lawrence County or one of the surrounding Indiana counties like Orange, Washington, etc that also are involved in drug offenses and bringing in drugs to pollute the youth of the community who are increasingly becoming middle age drug abusers.

That's in a nutshell the type of community that Bedford, Mitchell and Lawrence County in general has become over the years. Uneducated, lazy, drug abusers with other substance abuse problems who commit crimes against their fellow community members while the rest of the community ends up paying for their incarceration and court costs including the local yokels of the Bedford Police and Lawrence County Sheriff getting their nice government sponsored paychecks while totally ignoring the people at the top of the drug supply chain bringing in the garbage.

Of course, the Billy Bob mentality that many exhibit in Lawrence County wouldn't ever allow them to realize that their country cousins would be so vapid and ignorant to turn their community into a cesspit of drugs and lowlifes. I mean, after all Cousin Cletus wouldn't do that and he's not crooked even though the facts are that these same people constantly turn their heads to protect people who are criminals themselves.

Maybe that's why Bedford needs to change signs at the city limits and call it Methford or maybe Mitchell could be Methford and Bedford could be Bedrock because Stone Age thinking is quite popular in Lawrence County.

Uh oh, Mayor Big Smile Won't Like This

Sound familiar to the people of Bedford, Indiana and Lawrence County. Not to mention other towns and cities such as Mitchell, Paoli, Shoals, Salem, Bloomington, Seymour. As it has been said "Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely"

Sounds like some of the good old boy system of Bedford, Indiana and Lawrence County. Throw in the good old boy system of Orange County, Washington County and other local counties where they make their own laws and violate the Indiana Code, applicable federal laws, and even their local laws that they don't even hold themselves accountable. Add the Indiana Open Records act being continually violated.

Corrupt Public Officials.......this is one place you need to report to regarding government local corruption

Since we all know that Bedford has a serious public corruption problem as does Lawrence County and other areas of Indiana nearby such as Orange County, Martin County, and Washington County people need to step up.

If you know of government corruption in the Southern District of Indiana you should highly consider making your information known to the Prosecuting Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana for the United States Department of Justice. Since 2014, there has been an increased emphasis on governmental and public corruption in Southern Indiana and its time for the general public to step up and point out those involved in wrongdoing. I'm sure that the local good old boys and right to know media won't be providing this information for the citizens of Lawrence County to call corrupt local officials to account.

Radius Indiana and Taxpayer Funds

It might be noted that I've been quite critical of public boards which receive taxpayer dollars for economic development. Especially when they have received taxpayer dollars for economic development that essentially comes to naught. The only thing that many of these local small town boards in places like Bedford, Salem, Paoli, Shoals and the like is giving out good well paying jobs for their employees of said organization. Which the taxpayers end up subsidizing or better yet in many cases pay the entire footing of the bill.

Yet, despite all of this money that is handed out freely by the state of Indiana and the local governments nothing of substance ever comes to fruition toward creating hundreds of good paying jobs in every community if not the thousands that are needed in places around the state of Indiana. Just another government transfer the wealth scheme is what this public private partnerships are when they receive government funding from the taxpayers and that money goes into the hands of a few well placed invididuals with the proper community connections if you get my point.

It interesting to note that our regional economic development boards and agencies have spent years and years worth of money they get from the state of Indiana yet have nothing of substance to show for their efforts other than a few dozen low wage retail and service industry jobs in most towns. No real plant expansions, no real development except for the occasional small businesses that are able to make it go in the real world.

All while these county boards and county economic growth boards only exist on paper and paying the salaries of wages of people that polish their nails on the job, read the newspaper, and do essentially nothing of real value that would make their counties and cities a marketable commodity that people and businesses would be interested in this here talks about one of our local Southern Indiana Not For Profit government assisted agencies. None other than Bedford based Radius.

Quite an interesting read and wonder how many employees are getting some big bucks for doing nothing. All at taxpayer expense as well.
